Sharing your Store is something we encourage all photographers to do! We find that a large number of image views come through social media, so the more places your Store is linked to, the better!
How to link your social media accounts
Linking your social media accounts to your Plus Store is a great way to increase your social media following by giving visitors the ability to view and connect with your social media accounts.
As a Plus user, any link to your social media accounts will appear on the footer on every page of your Plus store. Linking your social media accounts also allows you to share your Store on your social media accounts in a few simple steps with Picfair’s social media sharing tool.
You’ll see fields where you can add your social media usernames for X(Twitter), Facebook and Instagram, TikTok or your personal website.
For X(Twitter) and Instagram, you can link your username for those accounts, for Facebook, your username may be different to your display name and you can find your account’s username via Facebook settings.
Once connected, your social media account links will appear on your Store About page:
Sharing your Store on your social media accounts
On your Store Header, you’ll see the Share drop-down menu on the right. Here you’ll find links to share your Store on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Email.
You can share your Store homepage, albums and individual images, and remember you can always copy any URL from your Store into your preferred social platforms. Visitors to your Store can also use these links to share your Store too!
There may be some limitations on how you can use certain social media platforms depending on what type of account you have. For example, Facebook will no longer let you share with a Facebook business account using Picfair's social share buttons.
We try to be as flexible as we can, but please check with the social media platform if it's not working as you'd expect.
Alternative social media previews
We recently made updates to social media previews - the images that appear automatically when you share a link on social media.
All Plus members now have the option to select a specific image to be shared with their links on social media.
You can select your favourite photograph, an image of yourself, a branded logo, or whatever you think represents your store best and this can be changed whenever you wish.
Adding an alternative social media preview
When sharing your Store to your social media, Picfair will use your most recent photo by default.
To add your social media preview image, you’ll need to head to your Advanced settings via your Store dashboard and simply upload your image file. Your chosen image should be less than 1MB.
We know that sometimes there are delays when changing your social media preview image as each social media site operates differently when updating and refreshing its cache. Please allow up to 48 hours for your social media preview to showcase if you’re not seeing immediate changes.
What are custom links?
Custom links are links to other websites that you can add to your Store’s menu.
Adding custom links to your Store menu
To add custom links to your Store menu, go to your Store Settings:
Under the Menu section, you can add more links by clicking ADD NEW LINK. Here, another window will appear where you can enter the full URL of the link you would like to add (e.g. https://example.blog.com) and you can also enter a name for the link which will appear on your Store menu (for example Blog).
Selecting the option Open in new tab will open the linked page on a new tab of the user’s web browser, so your Picfair Store page will remain on the user’s web browser when they click on one of your custom links:
From this section, you can also edit and delete your custom links at any time.
