What to avoid when uploading to your Picfair Store: AI, CGI, filters, composite, & non-photographic images
When you upload images to Picfair, we ask you to agree to the Contributor Agreement terms of our Image Licences. All images in Picfair Stores are purchasable under licence. This means that buyers can only use your images as stated in the terms of licence and protects your copyright. As a reminder, you’re never giving away the copyright to your images when they’re uploaded and sold in your store.
Your images then pass through our moderation processes to make sure they adhere to the terms of the Contributor Agreement, and also to determine which licence(s) should be assigned to which image(s) based on image content. You can find an overview and our full licence terms including the uses and restrictions of each licence type here.
We also moderate images to make sure they’re in their best possible format for selling including checking for things like embedded personal watermarks or graphics (which cannot be removed upon purchase). You can learn more about this criteria here.
During moderation, your images are shown as ‘Pending’ on the image page and on your Picfair Dashboard. The moderation process takes one business day and if you’re a Picfair Plus subscriber, your images are prioritised in the queue, so they’re processed faster. Once your images have been moderated, and their relevant licences are assigned, we’ll send you an email to let you know.
For Plus subscribers with published stores, your images will then be available to purchase as digital downloads and prints (if you’ve opted-in to prints).
All photographers can change and manage the licence types on their images once assigned at any time using the instructions here.
